Waihou beat Whangamata
Ill discipline let the Whangamata Senior A side down in the weekend, going down to Waihou 0-10.
Down to 14 men after 20 minutes, the Whangamata lads managed to hold on through to halftime at nil all, before a final score of ten to nil finished the match.
So while disappointed to lose, it was a mighty effort from the 14 men on the field, almost doing enough to snatch a win despite the odds.
Set pieces were solid but finishing and decision making at times was a bit off - a four on one underlap is NOT the time to run the ball back at the opposition!
So a benchmark for the season has been set, not very high, so there should be, and will be improvement in the weeks to come as the boys learn that first division rugby is a little less forgiving than the Senior B grade!
Roll on Hauraki North at home next weekend.
